Beverage cans breaking your fingernails?

In response to a recent Reddit inquiry, “How do you keep from breaking a fingernail while opening a beverage can?”, the responses were wide and varied, including:

  • Use the pad of your fingers
  • Or grab a spoon or something
  • Use the side of your finger. I’ve seen some people use butter knives or spoons.
  • Use a spoon or knife.
  • In a pinch some paper folded over 2 or 3 times can be strong enough to slide under the tab and lift it to open
  • Push down on the opposite side you pull up on before I try “pop the top”.

In nearly every response, the suggestion involved a separate device or apparatus.  If you happen to be drinking a Ready to Drink (“RTD”) beverage, chances are that you are out somewhere – the beach, a park, boating, other???

If so, it’s likely that you don’t have that little extra thing you need to pop open your favorite cocktail.  So, do you chance breaking a beautiful fingernail or waiting to open your beverage.

Realizing this was a problem for billions of people (ok, maybe only 100s), Red Cup Spirits makes their beverage in a RTD aluminum beverage can that has a twist off lid.  That’s right, a twist off lid on an aluminum beverage can.

At Red Cup Spirits, we deliver premium RTD cocktails that are truly Ready to Drink – no need for a separate utensil to avoid breaking a nail – just a simple twist off lid that’s also re-closeable.  Imagine that, twist the lid back on to save for later.  Or, if you happen to be on a boat, put the lid back on to avoid spillage.

Cheers,
